Let’s all think very clearly about this…
Time and time again, we’ve witnessed the death that has resulted when people abuse their power and time and time again we see the same reactions from angry “black people” (I use that term VERY loosely). You know what problem that a lot of black people in this country have? THEY KEEP DEPENDING ON MAN TO TREAT THEM FAIRLY!!
You already know that there are wicked men inside and outside of the law. They’ve been murdering people for YEARS!! Why do you expect that all of a sudden they’re gonna play nice? Placing your trust in man’s “goodness” will make you a VICTIM. Expecting for man to treat you fairly will make you a VICTIM. Waiting for the law to favor your skin color will make you a VICTIM. It’s one thing to fight against injustice, but it’s another thing to have the same angry response without a plan of action (which is the case for MOST people who blast on social media).
The simple truth is this: the world needs the Word of God and the indwelling of the Holy Spirit. I’m not talking about religion or some misrepresentation of what Christianity is. I’m talking about reflecting the life that Jesus came to express…A life of love, a life of peace, a life of humility, a life without fear or malice, a life of endless victory. That’s what every person in this country needs. With that kind of life, where would violence come from? Where would the hate come from? Many argue with me and say that the same people that introduced the Bible to black people were the ones that oppressed them, but NO ONE has ever asked themselves if that was reflective of the true Christian life. Why is that? Because MOST people don’t know what the true Christian life is or looks like! Don’t base your idea of Christianity on the evil things men who claim to serve God have done, base it on what the Bible actually says (but most people don’t even read or understand the Bible) #crickets
Brothers and sisters, pride in your skin color, history, and culture is good, but it WILL NOT save your life if a man full of hate decides to aim the gun in your direction or in the direction of your kids. The answer is in the gospel and the battle can be won on two fronts:
1. If you are truly living the life that God sent His son to give, then you will adopt what the Bible calls the mindset of the righteous. You will never live in fear a day of your life. The things the people of the world worry about won’t shake you because you know that the victory of Christ has placed you above any system that man could create. When you walk in the confidence that God is your fortress, your path will be clear of wicked and unreasonable men even if you live in the same city as them.
2. If you share the gospel with others, your environment will overflow with the love of God and there won’t be any room for the devil to use people as instruments of wickedness. Think about it, the officers who murdered those black men learned how to be hateful and fearful from someone else. What if he had heard the gospel earlier in his life? And now many of those officers probably have children who they are teaching to be hateful and fearful. Some of their children may be going to school with your children and you don’t even know it! Make sure the gospel reaches those children before another generation of hateful human beings grow into adulthood.
To some of you, I might sound crazy, but we’ve seen where blaming others for our troubles has gotten us…
Try God, preach the message of Jesus Christ.
