And they rose early in the morning, and went forth into the wilderness of Tekoa: and as they went forth, Jehoshaphat stood and said, Hear me, O Judah, and ye inhabitants of Jerusalem; Believe in the Lord your God, so shall ye be established; believe his prophets, so shall ye prosper.- 2 Chronicles 20:20 (KJV)
As I was clearing out my inbox this afternoon, I started coming across some emails that almost brought me to tears. The emails included letters that I wrote to my wife during our engagement; we talked about out future, where we were going to live, graduating from college, and lessons we learned from God’s Word.
One email in particular touched me deeply; it was a response to an email the my Pastor sent me to check in on how our engagement was going. I thanked her profusely for all that she had done to raise me in the house of God. When I say that I don’t know where my life would be without my Pastors, I mean it. She, her husband (another one of my Pastors), and my Senior Pastor have imparted so much into me and I thank God every single time I think of them. There are details that you may never discover without a man or woman of God in your life. They can council you, correct you, speak words or prophecy, and graciously groom you to become the man or woman God destined for you to be.
Never despise or underestimate the wisdom of your Pastors and Prophets, ESPECIALLY when it comes to marriage. Like the scripture above says, you will be established and you will prosper. The email that I wrote to my Pastor is almost two years old; I have now been happily married for 7 months and I’m enjoying it!
